Egypt - Hymn to Ra and Osiris - Book of the Dead

Spell 15 from the Book of the Dead is a hymn dedicated to Ra (the sun god) and Osiris (the god of the underworld). It combines praise, invocation, and magical guidance for the deceased’s journey through the afterlife. The spell reflects the dual aspects of Egyptian theology: solar and Osirian beliefs.

Hymn to Ra:
“Hail to thee, O Ra, in your rising, Tmu in your setting. You rise and shine on the back of your mother, the sky. You appear gloriously in the horizon, and the winds are filled with your beauty. Grant that I may sail in your barque, that I may be established among your followers, and that I may reach the heavens.”
Hymn to Osiris:
“Hail to thee, O Osiris, Lord of eternity, King of the gods. You possess the beautiful crowns and rule over the lands. You are the giver of life, and the gods exult in your presence. Grant that my soul may rise with you, O Lord of the living.”
